The rumor mill is abuzz with theories about American Horror Story, including allusions to past seasons in each episode with everything coming to a head on episode six.
Vanity Fair has pieced together an AHS6 theory that each episode represents a previous season. Let’s do a quick recap of everything so far. (Beware spoilers ahead)
In the first episode, we’re introduced to the Paranormal Witness documentary style format with Lily Rabe playing Shelby Miller and Sarah Paulson portrays Rabe’s character in reenactments. It begins with Shelby and her husband purchasing a home after being attacked in the city.
This goes back to season 1 where the family purchases the murder house and finds out about all the bad things that happened. Let’s hope what happened to them doesn’t happen to this couple.
In the second episode, we learn the house was purchased by a pair of crazy nurses that turned it into a convalescent home where they killed all the elderly patients. This is reminiscent of season 2, Asylum.
The third episode of American Horror Story starts with the group searching for Lee’s daughter, Flora, who was either kidnapped or led away by creepy child, Priscilla. All hope seems lost until (amazing actor) Leslie Jordan arrives as psychic Cricket to save the day…at a cost of $25,000. We learn the backstory of Kathy Bates’s character and are introduced to Lady Gaga’s character who is a …witch. Boom! The psychic and witchcraft make an obvious Season 3 Coven connection.
We’ll have to see how the fourth episode introduces Freak Show, but producer Ryan Murphy has hinted at a possible story involving the family of Freak Show’s Dandy, played by Finn Wittrock.
All this culminates in the sixth episode of American Horror Story where there is a shocking twist to the story. Odds are Lily Rabe and her hubby will get off their stools and get into the action. Could we see a melding of the real and reenactment? We’d hate to lose Sarah Paulson and Cuba Gooding Jr., so I hope they continue with the reenactments or at least bring them into the fold.
