Fear. It’s why you’re here. It’s why you scour streaming services and dare each other to venture off to the cemetery at 2 a.m. It’s why horror exists. Fear the Series creator Devin Talbott hopes to take that to new heights with his web series.
“Everything is about telling the best story you can,” creator Devon Talbott said. “Manhattan’s history is full of strange and dark events. That was what inspired our story.”
The plot of the web series involves the infamous “House of Death” in Greenwich Village, NY. It’s a site purported to be haunted for decades and becomes the macabre backdrop for Fear The Series.
It’s more than just another web series. Creators are shooting in 4k high definition and using actors and crew with horror experience. The series aims to be more of a web version of a television show than the typical web series fare.
“I wanted to give actors an opportunity to shine in roles they may not have the chance to normally audition for- to tell the story of a character that is perfect for them,” Talbott said. “Another goal was to deliver intelligent horror, explore and deconstruct the tropes of the genre.”
Fear the Series is currently undergoing an Indiegogo campaign through Aug. 22. If you would like to be involved with the series and potentially be a part of horror history, check out their campaign here. You can also learn more about it by liking their web page.
Talbott is a graduate of the New York University Tisch School of Arts. He’s performed as an actor, filmmaker and voice-over artist in every medium imaginable, from films and animation to commercials and audiobooks.
He doesn’t live far from the “House of Death” and wants to explore New York’s history of horror, including noted occultist Helena Blatevsky, the Theosophical Society and the goings on inside the “House of Death.”
