If you live in Illinois and are a fan or horror, then you’re no doubt looking forward to the Chicago Horror Film Festival. It’s one of the premiere horror film festivals in the nation, and it’s coming this September. The intrepid news hounds and reviewers of Horror Junction will be on hand to see the best that Illinois horror has to offer.
The festival began in 2003 and has hosted a wide variety of films and short films since its creation. This year it runs from Friday, Sept. 23 until Sunday, Sept. 25. If you plan on going, then expect to spend many bone-chilling hours viewing some serious horror movies and shorts. The schedule is jam-packed for three whole days.
The goal of every festival is two-fold. First, you want to showcase your hard work in the hopes of winning one of the many awards. Second, your fingers are crossed there are a few distributors attending who want to send your masterpiece to the big leagues, or, at least, the farm leagues.
With the Chicago Horror Film Festival, that’s a distinct possibility. Anyone interested in taking in three days of brand new horror films can purchase a weekend pass for $35 or pay $15 per day. Horror Junction will have more information as the event draws closer. Check out their website for more information.
