When people think of horror conventions in Illinois, they imagine Chicago and, for the most part, they’d be right, but not anymore. The Starved Rock Terror Fest, located in Utica, IL, will be 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 25, about two hours away from the horrific traffic and endless lines of most Illinois conventions.
The Starved Rock Terror Fest is put on by The Con Life, which recently completed its incredibly successful Sons of Anarchy Convention. Tickets are on sale now for the November event, located at the Celebrations 150 convention complex in Utica. You’d better get them now, as people came from all around the country for the Sons of Anarchy event.
Terror Fest Special Guests
While it’s still early, events and guests for the Terror Fest have already been announced. The death of Abraham was underscored by Glenn’s death on The Walking Dead, but you can pay your respects to the actor that portrayed him, Michael Cudlitz. If you want to see Jesus, he’s coming too. Tom Payne, who plays the cunning survivor Paul “Jesus” Rovia, is set to appear too.
The little girl from The Ring is all grown up, but Daveigh Chase is going to be in full Samara makeup and costume for the ultimate photo op.
Wrestling Legend Sting will also be there for photos with fans, as well as Halloween horror legend Nick Castle. Castle was billed in the original Halloween as “The Shape” and is also the writer of cult hit “Escape from New York” along with John Carpenter and director of “The Last Starfighter.”
Horror Convention Events
While the celebrity guests will be a big draw, that’s not all that going on at the Starved Rock Terror Fest. There will also be live makeup demonstrations by some of the industry’s top experts. You’ll get to see a special props’ display and so much more.
